Used To Be

Image
Those streets in Adamah district near "Seiko". Those streets where every morning we walked for about 15 minutes for our daily bus ride to work. Those streets where I first think every morning of what to do for the day. Those street and I will seldom walk on them now. I have transferred to a nearer place to the bus pick-up point to save time and energy and the very real reason is that I was left in the house since the 3 housemates I have go to the Philippines for good. Grover is staying in our country to start a new career and business. Ryan on the other hand has his luck in Japan. And Ayie got his job in Batangas again in Siemens. And I am the one being left here that still continuing to struggle despite the loneliness and the eagerness to go home also. But I guess I will spend more of my time here.

"Switch On"

Image
Some days are really just fun and exciting and some days are just normal and unexpected things happen. Sometimes we have to be prepared to all circumstances. We must be just like that wires and switch that anytime can be turned off or on depending on a situation in life. But is it really like that in real life? We hope so. A couple of nights ago we went to a hospital here in Dammam to see my friend and elementary classmate Gerry. We have to seek his assistance for a medical check-up of one of my fellow Filipino here in Dammam. Thanks God Gerry was there in that big Mouwasat Hospital. He was a supervisor of general services of that big government hospital here in our place. He almost ran the "show" for all the cleanliness and order of the whole hospital. It was so big we were lost in maze of hallways and floors. The medical check up did not last that long because Gerry made it clear that we will be prioritized. And he did. Then we went to his house just a walk away from...

Back To Jogging

Image
That feeling of acceleration..of being lightweight..and running.. Last night I have told my nephews that we will be jogging this morning. And so Bambe called me at around 5 am to confirm if the routine will go through. And we go. At around 6 we were at the SM parking area and started to jog and walk and run..the usual. Sometimes it was hard to start all over again after months or year without jogging..though my joints were not aching I can feel some uneasiness within my system. But eventually it went on that rhythmic cycle and I was back on track again. For the biggest loser challenge? partly but mainly for my own health regardless of with contest or not. Happy jogging everyone! and I posted it on my daily mile account!

"Cheating Weekends"

Image
Saturday and Sunday..my friend Richard (ins Singapore) is on a diet mode too..but he insisted on a day or two that he will eat as much as he can..he calls it "cheating day"..and I have my own version..Saturday in Bigg's Diner and Sunday in Goto King..such a relief after a five-day almost no-rice week..

"Pasalubong"

Image
Oftentimes when we go out and someone from the family does not make it for some reasons, we take out some food to bring them some happiness..and yesterday my Kuya with her cute daughter Dada visited us so we strolled around SM with some of my pamangkins..and Limuel aka Bambi was missing..He was at the Church doing some "altar boy" duties..and so with the pasalubong ng bayan Jollibee we came home with the right package..

I Quit

Image
And today is Ash Wednesday. Traditionally as a Catholic this is the beginning of the Lenten Season. The start of the day that I quit. We quit. We resign ourselves from the flesh and other worldly things. This is the start of our renewal. I quit being online always. I quit on attending to some negative vibes. I quit on judging others. I quit on my former self. A renewed one. A born again. In Catholic's faith. And speaking of Catholicism, the highest designated leader of our Church surprisingly announced yesterday that he will quit. He will retire come the end of this month. A shocking news? Not so. When health is the issue everyone has the obligation and right to quit. How can you serve of  what is expecting of you when your own muscles and bones and brains do not function well? And the Pope chooses his health over the power of continuing the highest position in Catholic Church. In the end he is still human like us capable of vulnerabilities and susceptible to disease. And we ...
