Yesterday..after we had visited the cemetery in the morning we had watched Thor 2 late in the afternoon courtesy of my cousin Heidi! Thanks thanks! and later last night we had to visit my grandparents a few walk away from our home in Floral Garden. And Tintin bought those pizza! One thing we had noticed in the cemetery nowaday; lots were taking photos using mobile phone and SLR! and we are guilty of it too hahaha!

Designed Driven

Image
At first I do not know what it is. And then someone lit a cigarette and put it in such metal thing. An ash tray. Designed to be that way as it is used in industrial spaces like in our power plant. Design. Our life. Our surroundings. Everything is according to the Grand Design? I get it from a philosophy book. But sometimes I don't care about design. We are the one designing our life. Of course with the guidance from Above if you believe. Or sometimes our very own existence designed someone else's.

On The Brighter Side

Definitely the process of losing weight has its own downside since I really have to deprive myself of the amount of delicious food to take. Take note of the word amount. I am not on a diet or something but on taking minimal calories as I want to be. I am still on eating such "prohibited" foods but on a very low quantity. And guess what? I am feeling better and better each day. I thought the sun will not shine this morning. It is August month and I am expecting such heavy rains and storm but to my surprise the brightest object in the sky is radiating its heat that seems to invite me to go on a trip once again. But where? I have two in mind. Go east or go south though  north of me now. Sounds weird? It is not. I checked on my two nephews this morning and they are so busy doing some chores. Arvin is sick of seems to be chickungunya which translated into "tuko" in Tagalog language. Though similar to dengue it is not dengue and yes it is caused by mosquito too. And o...

Congratulations Andrei!!

Not Your Usual Quezon Avenue

Image
Yesterday I was in Manila to remit the annual contribution of my mother to an insurance company for public school teacher. The venue was familiar since when I was in elementary I used to go with my mother there. And it was just in the intersection of Banawe St and Quezon Avenue a few blocks short of the Mabuhay Rotunda commonly known as Welcome Rotunda before. It was easy to get there since I have worked before in Araneta Avenue which is just a few blocks also from where I was yesterday. The building, an old one, with so many people in their old age ( but not yet retirable) occupied the offices and you can see some clutters in the vicinty, a typical of a government agency. However I could observe the less-bureaucracy setting  now than before. I was amazed at how those in their 50's and 60's work withe ease updating to their computer system the data that their customers are giving them. And in a few minutes I was done doing everything and I could go back to Batangas. And I ju...

"Pasalubong"

Image
Oftentimes when we go out and someone from the family does not make it for some reasons, we take out some food to bring them some happiness..and yesterday my Kuya with her cute daughter Dada visited us so we strolled around SM with some of my pamangkins..and Limuel aka Bambi was missing..He was at the Church doing some "altar boy" duties..and so with the pasalubong ng bayan Jollibee we came home with the right package..

The Road Less Traveled

Image
Almost every week I am on road. I travel. Be on a bus, or from a friend's car I am always on the go. I always feature some restaurants or coffee shops that make the travel and visit a worthwhile endeavor. And on this summer,if it will push through, we have two major summer route escapade for 2013. The Pinatubo Trekking Adventure and the Boracay Getaway! I can't wait to see those two wonderful destinations! Yesterday we have booked ourselves for the Pinatubo trekking while on the Boracay exit we are still gathering some cousins and friends to join with us. And thanks to Google Photos I can have a sneak peak to these two awesome places! and of course the famous Boracay Island and we will go there via 2Go, a shipping vessel from Batangas City Port to Caticlan.

Child/Children

Morrie said now, looking at a photo of his oldest son. "I simply say, `There is no experience like having children.' That's all. There is no substitute for it. You cannot do it with a friend. You cannot do it with a lover. If you want the experience of having complete responsibility for another human being, and to learn how to love and bond in the deepest way, then you should have children." Mitch Albom. Tuesdays With Morrie (Kindle Locations 793-795). Wheeler Publishing.  And this might be the best lines I have ever read in a book. Probably. And probably best felt by mothers since we all came from our mother. The bonding between child and mother is somehow not explainable or an enigma . A perfect bonding. And I missed my Inay. I should call her more often.

E-Reader

Image
"Life is a series of pulls back and forth. You want to do one thing, but you are bound to do something else. Something hurts you, yet you know it shouldn't.   You take certain things for granted, even when you know you should never take anything for granted. Mitch Albom. Tuesdays With Morrie (Kindle Locations 334-336). Wheeler Publishing.  And I am reading from my PC an ebook. I thought that I will not fall into this trap but sometimes I have to go with the flow. I still prefer to read the print version but now I will give it a try the e-book reading. I will not definitely abandon the printed book I will just try this high-tech version of reading. Thanks to our IT, Leonard, for giving me tons of e-books, almost a thousand materials mostly fiction, bestseller books like this one, the book of Mitch Albom. Thanks also to Kindle ( the e-reader) and thanks to its PC version that I am able to read from my computer. Maybe I should buy a tablet, an ipad mini or a kindle its...

They Steal Our Time

Image
Or should I say we have allowed them to steal our time. It was an ordinary Friday evening that I have nothing to do when suddenly my cousin Jephren asked if I will not go to Starbucks ( our tambayan nowadays) and I said I was on my way that 7 o'clock in the evening. So I was there and waited for my cousin. As usual we ordered coffee ( oh he did not just some juice drink since he has this "acidic thing") and we settled outside the store. Thanks God there was no wind blowing and we can peacefully settle outside and do our endless conversations almost about everything and about nothing in particular. Just plain talks just passing the time. Then suddenly a not so elderly woman ( a decent one) from the adjacent table approached us and introduced about why they are in the city in the first place. And so the conversation went on and all of a sudden we were caught off-guarded and we were trapped in this marketing scheme. I was not worried because I have seen their announcement...

Saturday in Alabang

Image
Yesterday and I was staying at home with no plans of going out that suddenly my Ate Arlyn called me and asked if I want to go with them to Alabang that morning. Without thinking twice I said yes. First stop: lunch at Bonchon Chicken in Festival mall..I have noticed that beautifully painted wall..  Second stop: The Coffee Bean And Tea Leaf ( CBTL ) in Alabang Town Center..actually Ate Arlyn and Kuya Efren were left somewhere in ATC and were busy going around the mall when my coffee instinct strikes and I was with my nephews Andre and Limuel.. And lastly we had our snack which was more than a meal since we ate at CBTL minutes before Ate called us and asked our whereabouts and we headed to this California Pizza Kitchen where they are waiting for us..
